Tagab Valley

Tagab Valley

We spent more than a few nights with other ODA’s in their respective provinces for coordinated missions, but none more than in Kapisa Province, working out of FOB Pathfinder (renamed FOB Kutschbach after our brother Pat was killed) in the Tagab Valley.  It was the heart of Taliban activity for quite some time prior to and during out deployment, and the word came back from our guys on the following deployment that it had settled down quite a bit.  I’m not sure if it’s because our boys hit them so hard there that they just couldn’t keep up, or if it was that we hit them so hard in our other locations that they had to redirect their forces.  All in all, there were 5 purple hearts awarded to the men of B/1/10 SFG(A) from battles in the Tagab on our deployment, 2 of them going to my Captain and I, the other 3 going to the men of 021, including our brother Pat.
